Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and alpine forests, this is a perfect place to stretch your legs and take photographs of Kashmir’s natural charm.

Next comes the climb to Zojila Pass (11,575 ft), a thrilling ascent through narrow roads carved into the mountains. Drive through the remote village of Lamayuru, known for its “lunar-like” landscape and optional monastery views (drive-past unless specified).
